Cebu City, Philippines Encounters

Magellan’s Cross is located along Magallanes St. in front of Cebu City Hall and across Basilica Minore del Santo Niño. It is approximately 30 minutes by car from Mactan Cebu International Airport depending on the traffic situation.

The site is always open to visitors even on weekends and holidays; and there is no admission fee. There are several vendors too selling different items like candles.

Some believe that the original cross had been destroyed or had disappeared after Magellan’s death and the present cross is just a replica placed by the Spaniards after their successful colonization of the Philippines.

Located in the wealthy residential suburb of Beverly Hills about 6 km north of downtown Cebu is an enormous Taoist Temple. It was built by Cebu's substantial Chinese community

The temple is the a center of worship for Taoism, the religion which follows the teachings of the ancient Chinese philosopher, Lao Tze. You can see Taoist devotees following their rituals on Wednesdays and Sundays, as they climb the 99 steps of the temple to light joss sticks and have their fortunes read by the monks.

Shimu and Dolphin Encounter at Seaworld Theme Park San Diego, California

We went to SeaWorld via the boat at my Hyatt resort. It is a must do day out if you are visiting San Diego, its fun for all ages. We went last week, lots of children were still on their summer vacation, and the theme park was busy however we did not have to wait for more than 30 minutes for any rides. We got on Manta 2 times in about 30 minutes. All the shows were absolutely fun and nice to watch.

We took our kids to SeaWorld, after one show, presenting Shamu, we tend to realized that we should concentrate on other attractions. It's too laborious to expect to a little child to stay and sit for an hour for about 5 minutes of splashing and a trifle of a heavy-handed, environmentalist platform.

One of the great for family is the Sesame Street Bay of Play. We spent few hours climbing on nets and passing through tubes, and enjoyed the roller coasters sized for our kids. He was delighted! Don't forget grab water, because they have precious few drinking fountains, and charge a too much for bottled water.

We also had fun to the tower ride which makes you see around the whole park and the chocolate funnel cake at Pineapple Pete's, which was looked yummy! I will do this again when I come back in San Diego in the future.

Expect for long lines. I suggest if you can afford it, grab a front of the line pass especially if you are with small kids and elderly. This is also to save time and spend it on the park.

Sea World is fun; we especially liked the Turtle show and the ride that makes you see the overview of the area. We really had a great time. We took 2 days to do everything. The place is clean and easy to navigate. The shows were very good and delighted my kids.
